Congrats to all the Country Grammy winners from last night's show. Trace fans were excited to see the Alpha Male of Country Music escort his pretty wife down another red carpet and were, of course, disappointed that he did not win Best Country Male Performance for "You're Gonna Miss This". The winners are listed below.
Being a fan of Trace's vocal performances, not necessarily the material he is singing, I was never really excited about "You're Gonna Miss This". I believe when the song was first released I posted a blog in which I said that meant the song would be a number one hit. Don't get me wrong, Trace's every performance of the song is filled with all that he can give it. But, the song did not do justice to Trace's voice, and to me it was too similar to "Then They Do".
I prefer hearing the falsetto of "Lonely Won't Leave Me Alone" or the low rumbling of "Let's Do That Again" and the pure emotion of "Can't Outrun You". Since "You're Gonna Miss This" received so much attention this year, I have a lot of hopes for 2009 for songs from the X Album. But I am only one country music customer.
Best Country Collaberation: Robert Plant/Alison Krause
Best Country Female: Carrie Underwood
Best Country Male: Brad Paisley
Best Country Song: Stay (Sugerland)
Best Country Album: Troubador (George Strait)

Can You Identify This Man?
Hey Trace fans, thought you would enjoy seeing these 1989 photos of Trace I came across on Randy Stafford's website. Randy was a member of Bayou Speak Easy, Trace's first band.
From left to right; Glen Colliver, Sound Tech, from Wichita Falls, Texas; Trace Adkins, Lead Vocalist; Randy Stafford, Keyboard Player; and Clint Pitre, Drummer, from Oppelousas, Louisiana. In the second photo Trace is dressed up for Hawaiin Night at Santa Fe Junction in San Angelo, TX.
