I Had This Plan, Then Fate Showed Its Hand

I have to admit that I have never seen Trace in concert. I've bought tickets - then things happened - my grandmother died, etc. So for all the tickets I have purchased to Trace Adkins concerts, some lucky person has gotten to attend free of charge, thanks to my bad luck.

I am not complaining - for each ticket I have passed on, Trace has gained a new rabid fan. To see him is to love him. I've been told.

In 2009 Trace's concert schedule has not brought him into the lowcountry of South Carolina - from what I've seen, neither will 2010. Therefore, since I will have to travel quite a few miles to see Trace in concert, I decided to choose which city by where I might win a back stage pass.

Low and behold I received an email this week that I had been selected to receive a backstage pass for the concert November 22, in Milwaukee. Yes, one of the northernmost cities in the United States just days before Thanksgiving. My luck is holding.

Imagine the look I received when saying I wanted to fly to Milwaukee the weekend before Thanksgiving in order to see Trace in person? The roundtrip airfair is only $250 and I am only cooking Thanksgiving dinner for 15!

We will see what happens. Still I have to laugh at the irony. Why does fate throw all these obstacles in my way each time I hope to see the big guy live? Let me know what you think. Lucky for me Trace will be around for decades to come and I know I will have the opportunity to hear his beautiful voice time and again.

Try to go! He is fabulous in person.
13 years ago I saw him on CMT when he did Thinkin Thing---I said at that time no one can look that good and sing like that too. So, cynic that I am, I decided to see for myself if he was the real deal. That fall, he and Toby and a few others had a show in a field, no joke, right down the road. When he walked out and stretched out his arms to all of us, I thought, WOW you were wrong---he is the real deal. A super guy and worth the price of your plane ticket. Good luck!

By all means, GO! You'll never regret it! Yes, Trace and his amazing voice will be around for decades, but grab each and ever chance you get to see him live! He is absolutely the real deal ~~ both as a performer and as a great human being.

I'm Mike Johns and I became a fan of Trace this year, seeing his show in Prescott, and getting his CD as a gift from my wife. Trace has inspired me to learn guitar, and I listen to his cd in my truck, as I drive across AZ & NV. While visiting an auction house here in Prescott, I recently found and bought a Trace Adkins autographed, Copley Guitar a prize from GAC "12 six strings of Christmas" and sadly, I must sell it to raise money to pay bills.
