Trace Looked Good on Fox News This Morning

I was sure to tune into Fox News this morning to see Trace's live interview, after reading that he canceled some live appearances in December due to illness.  He looked handsome as ever, energetic and pounded Brian Kilmead with his quick wit.  The entire studio crew were in stitches within 15 seconds of Trace taking the couch.

Brian called the new album EX, as in ex-wives, instead of TEN and Trace asked if he missed the day in school when they taught roman numerals.  It got even better from there.

Trace said two of his daughters will accompany him on the float tomorrow in Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade.  Good news for fans who have worried about Trace this past week.

Can't Wait to See Trace Blow Up Something.

I am sitting in my living room watching GAC's airing of Trace's Ten Days in Iraq. I knew the boy could not go to that country without shooting at, or blowing up something. Since he recently got criticized for saying his dad made John Wayne look gay, I know Trace will understand this analogy.

My dad, and brothers', idea of a great Fourth of July was attaching sticks of dynamite to the electric fence and then turning the fence back on. The men in my family, well, they should have been born at least a hundred years ago, as should  Trace.

I loved reading his thoughts on the new album, and the song “Till the Last Shots Fired”, I have relatives who fought in the wars he sung about, and agree with Trace’s sentiments. Some of them were heroes, but not in the sense we see in movies.

I’ve also read a rumor that Trace is open to a new movie and hope that it includes his favored role. We will be there if it comes to fruition.

I hope you all buy Trace’s latest album to support him in all his endeavors. The man is country music through and through, still holding strong while some of its greats are fading into the past.

You haven’t come to prime yet Trace, stick in there for us.

I was distracted by a website that offers something from Trace you can't get everyday, did you know you can bid on Trace's shirt or jeans for charity.  I'm headed that way right now.  Follow me at the link below.

Get Well Trace - We'll Be Here Next Year and the Year After

Trace has canceled his live concert appearances for the month of December.  We know he has to be tired.  He's been all over the world and back in the last year and that takes its toll.  According to his website Trace is suffering from flu-like symptoms.

I just want to say to Trace, please take care of yourself - in your own words no one else is going to - and that your fans will be there when you get better.  We worry about you big guy and will all be asking the Good Lord to take care of you for us until next year.

Video For I Can't Out Run You

Before "I Can't Out Run You", my favorite song was "Love Me Like There's No Tomorrow".  That was before, now all I can say is listen, with earphones preferably, this isn't a song you want to share with anyone.

Thanks To Trace For Music I've Been Lusting For

Trace, first let me say thank you very much for the stripped videos, I have lusted after them for quite some time, and now I have the opportunity to own the rights to listening whenever and how many times I can.  Also, I noticed that "Muddy Water" has some choir tracks not included in the early release.  Pat your producer on the back for me.
Second, thanks for "Let's Do That Again", your female fans may never be the same.  If you do a video for it, think aobut a duet with Shania, who is trying to get back into country music, it would be tremendous.
Third, you are genius, the "I Can't Out Run You" video, my god, what can I say.  You convey the emotion of the song pefectly.  I just love the purity of your voice in that.  Additional images would have distracted from something already complete.
And in closing, to everyone else, please do not let me read one more time that this is Trace's best album ever.  What a chicken way to review someone's music.  It's like saying momma's chicken was better Sunday than the nine Sunday's before.  Momma knows how to fry chicken and Trace knows how to deliver the best in country music.  This album may be better seasoned that the first, but that makes it one more in a compilation, the next installment in a masterpiece.

Preview Trace's New Album at Iheart Music

Trace is allowing fans a preview of his new album at: http://www.iheartmusic.com/cc-common/mfeatures/traceadkinsSP. You gotta take a listen.

I read recently that Trace’s voice was one of the few to convey a feeling of bittersweet. That’s exactly what he achieves in the up beat, “Better Than I Thought It’d Be” a song Trace describes as funk-a-billy.

After recording Arlington, Trace has said he would have liked if the song was about all the men we’ve lost to battle. That must be why “Til The Last Shot’s Fired” caught his attention. It is a beautiful song, its lyrics compelling and may become my new favorite among patriotic melodies.

Oh my, and the harmony of "Sometimes a Man Takes a Drink"!

Listen up for yourselves and let me know which are your favorites. it's going to be hard to pick.

Trace on TV Guides Sexiest Male Singers and 2009 Tour Updates

I caught TV Guide's Sexiest Country Singers yesterday; Trace was named number four, didn't wait to see the rest.  Trace always has something fun and witty to say.  In this interview he said he knew all the guys nominated and none of them were sexy, including himself.  Of course fans beg to differ.  And I chuckled when he told the story that at a meet and greet a fan told him her last child was conceived to one of his tunes.
That can't be news to Trace. Voted Country's Sexiest Man by Country Weekly Magazine recently, he has to realize there are thousands of fantasies going on out there about him.  Would have liked to seen the look on his face when the fan told him face to face though.
Speaking of sexy, don't forget to visit my Trace Shirtless page and vote on your favorite pic.  The link is at right.

Fans are asking about Trace's tours in 2009.  No word from his people yet about a tour to support the new Trace is a Perfect Ten Album.  They call it "X", by the way.  So far he has announced five dates, they are:

04/03/2009 Agua Caliente Casino Rancho Mirage CA
04/04/2009 Star Of The Desert Arena Primm NV
05/15/2009 Naval Air Station Fort Worth TX
05/16/2009 Coushatta Casino Resort Kinder LA
08/04/2009 Mississippi Valley Fairgrounds Davenport IA

CMA A Pop Tart Extravaganza, Where are the Country Singers

I turned on ABC last night at 8 p.m. wanting to the see the Country Music Awards, instead I was pummeled for two hours out of three with pop and soft rock. I think we should call it what it was, the Pop Music Awards.

Trace, dressed for the occasion and looked handsome in his suit and black tie, delivered another emotional performance of “You’re Gonna Miss This”, the song that won him two CMA nominations. We forgive him for not singing “Muddy Water”. Trace said on the red carpet, that he believed an artist should sing the song that got him there, not promote a new album. That’s our Trace.

It felt like Trace, George, and Reba were token country music singers, allowed to appear at the CMA’s just to give the show some legitimacy.

Where were people like Toby Keith and Tim McGraw, two of the biggest drawing country music entertainers in the business? Instead we were fed the average and mundane voices of the CMA’s idea of new country, a stable of metrosexual male singers.

Where were the great female voices of country music? Except for Reba, all I saw were Pop Tarts whose voices couldn’t carry a song well enough to allow you to differentiate the words.

If CMA wants to take the country out of country music, they should take it out of their name too. If you agree and would like to tell CMA your opinion, I am including contact info below.

Trace to Appear in the Macy's Parade on the Jimmy Dean Float

According to Macy's press release, Trace will appear in the 82ND Annual Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade on the Jimmy Dean float.  Trace's people are encouraging fans along the parade route to let him know who they are by waving signs.  I encourage all of those fans to make "Trace is a Perfect X", their sign of choice.

Here's info on the float, so you won't miss Trace, if you are viewing from home.

SHINE ON JIMMY DEAN(R)

The bright optimism created each day as the sun rises is the inspiration of the new Shine On float. The colorful float features a giant plate that serves as the centerpiece. Surrounding the float is a giant animated crescent moon that sets just as the brilliant sun rises over the city skyline on the back of the float. Showcasing the continuous night to day cycle, the float's giant plate will rise revealing an evening scene and will descend as the morning arrives. On board for the bright, shining morning will be country superstar Trace Adkins.

Trace Contributes Song to CD 'For The Troops II'

CD for the Troops II

Multi-platinum recording artist Trace Adkins (I love saying that) has joined with thirteen artists of all genres to release the CD "For the Troops II" on November 25th. The CD will be distributed free to active duty and retired military personnel.

Trace contributed the track to "Fightin Words". I thought it was very fitting for the audience and especially love the words to the chorus.

So one slip of the tongue 'bout my dog
Or my woman
Or this country that I proudly serve
You'll see a side of me man
That you damn sure don't wanna
Cause them there's fightin' words

Here's what he said about the album....

“As Americans, we cannot do enough for these dedicated men and women who serve our nation. I am honored to be involved with this project and hope that it may bring a moment of enjoyment to them as they defend our Freedom and our way of life.”

TEN REASONS WHY TRACE IS A PERFECT TEN

Trace says that the new album was named X (ten) because its his tenth. I believe he is mistaken, the new album is named after the man pictured on the cover, a perfect X. Here’s my Ten reasons why Trace is a Ten:

1. His voice. Trace hits all the notes with that low vibration a woman needs to hear now and then. His voice is a gift from God to brighten our existence on this turbulent planet, like a rainbow after a storm, or the first bud of spring peeking through snow. Make it a gift to yourself on November 25th when X is released.

2. His humility. Trace gives credit where credit is due, including to his fans who are the best of any in country music. While Trace is nominated for three CMA Awards for “You’re Gonna Miss This” he credits the hit to its writers, the duo of Lee Thomas Miller and Ashley Gorley. Don’t miss Trace’s appearance on the awards show November 12 at 8:00 p.m. on ABC
3. His strength. Trace wades through life, throwing off its trials and tribulations seeming to become stronger with each one. Accomplishing what is almost insurmountable, he shakes it off with a “no big deal” attitude and nowhere does that come across more than in his book “A Personal Stand” which comes out in paperback December 30th.

4. He is down to earth. Whenever I hear Trace talk in interviews about unwinding at his farm I am reminded of Paul Bunyan, the giant lumberjack of American Folklore who, when he grappled with Hells Helson in the forest ended up creating the Great Lakes. Trace has a few scars from his grappling in the woods, and a scenic lake of his own to show for it. Viewers will get a peak on November 24th when DIY Networks “Indoors Out” visits his farm. The show starts at 10:00 p.m.

5. His patriotism. All of us with family and friends stationed in Iraq and around the world appreciate Trace’s efforts to support our troops. Recently he braved life and limb to visit troops on the front lines in Iraq. See for yourself on November 25th when GAC premiers X (Ten Days) beginning at 9:00 p.m.

6. His sense of humor. It is always fun to watch Trace in interviews, he invariably makes me laugh. I especially loved the interplay between Trace and Little Jimmy Dickens on his recent appearance on GAC’s Grand Ol Opry Live.

7. His family values. What is more appealing to a woman than a man who honors his mate and his momma? Watch him with your family gathered around on Thanksgiving Day when he appears in the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade November 27th.

8. His compassion and generosity. We all saw what Trace was willing to endure on Celebrity Apprentice for a charity that benefits children; and all his competitors walked away without a scratch. Trace is the National Honorary Chair for FAAN's Walk for Food Allergy: Moving Toward A Cure. Remember FAAN with your charitable giving this holiday season.

9. He’s hard-working. According to his website, Trace will also be appearing on "Bonnie Hunt," Fox News Channel's "O'Reilly Factor," Fox's "Talk Show With Spike Feresten," the new nationally syndicated talk show "The Doctors," Fox's "Morning Show with Mike and Juliet," TV Guide Network special, "Hottest Stars of Country Music," CNN.

10. Oh, I almost forgot. His six and a half feet of male physical perfection.

A New Photo Page for Trace Female Fans

Don't forget the CMA Awards take place November 12th and will be televised on ABC at 7/8c. Trace is nominated for single, song and video of the year, but even better, he will perform at the ceremonies.

Trace is so busy during the month of November that I can’t keep track from memory, so I’ve created my own Trace Adkins at a glance calendar that I am sharing at http://traceadkinscalendar.blogspot.com/ I will update as I receive new information about his schedule.

Recently I became aware that the number one page to be returned for fans who "Google" in search of a shirtless Trace Adkins, comes back to a website designed specifically for males. In defense of Trace's obvious and well known heterosexuality, I've developed a new page for the women in Trace's life, who I hope will visit it often to make it the number one. When you Goggle "Trace Adkins shirtless" be sure to select http://traceadkinsshirtless.blogspot.com/. Not the other guy.

Fans are also wanting to know where Trace shot the video for his new hit “Muddy Water. According to The Clarksville Leaf-Chronicle. The location was Montgomery County, Tenn. Some of the filming took place at Bethlehem United Methodist Church, and a baptism scene was filmed at Big McAdoo Creek.

Trace’s appearance on the Grand Ole Opry’s 60th anniversary celebration of Little Jimmy Dickens was fun to watch. I like to hear Dickens and Trace verbally spar with each other and Jimmy seems to invariably win. Of course he’s got a few decades of practice on Trace.

I’ll never tire of seeing and hearing Trace sing “Muddy Water” live and the audience was just as enthused. I’ve said it before, he puts his heart and soul into it. He put the same effort into singing his prior hit “You’re Gonna Miss This”.

I was saddened to hear that George Jones is losing his voice. He could hardly get through the first song which had notes he could not reach. George was my favorite at low notes in his time.
